Materials:
I have made this shawl using about 15 ounces of worsted weight.
I also made it using Bernat Illusions which is a chunky weight and I used about 11 ounces.

Hook:
for worsted weight: 5.5mm Conversion Chart
for chunky: 6.0mm Conversion Chart

tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Abbreviations:
Dc: double crochet
Sl: sl
St(s): stitch (es)
Ch: Chain
Sp: space
Ww: worsted weight

Instructions:
Row 1: (RS) With appropriate hook ch 4; work 3 dc in fourth ch from the hook.
(that makes one block); ch 4, turn.
Row 2: Work 3 dc in the third ch from the hook; sl st around the beg ch of previous
block (See fig 1), ch 3 and then work 3 dc in the same sp (see fig 2). (2 blocks); ch 4, turn

Row 3: Work 3 dc in the third ch from the hook; sl st in ch-3 sp of first block, ch 3, work 3 dc
in same sp; *sl st in ch-3 sp of next block, ch 3, 3 dc in same sp; repeat from * across; ch 4, turn.
Continue in this manner until there are a total of 50 blocks for shawl in pic 1 and 42 blocks
for shawl in pic 2. Fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
