DESIGNER NOTE: WHEN JOINING THE FRONT AND THE BACK IT MIGHT BE DIFFICULT
TO WORK INTO THE STS ON THE FILET SIDE WITH A 4.00 MM HOOK. WORKING
OVER THE EDGING AND BETWEEN THE STITCHES MIGHT MAKE IT EASIER.

Instructions:
Materials:
150 gr size 10 thread (white)
50 gr worsted weight cotton (green for Christmas Tree)
50 gr worsted weight cotton (red for Snowman)
hooks: 1.5mm and 4.00 mm
plastic ring: (2) 1 1/4"
tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
Sc: single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
St(s): stitch(es)
Sk: skip
Sl: slip
RS: right side
WS: wrong side

Size: 8.5" x 9"

LEGEND:Each open block is (dc, ch2, dc)
Each solid block is 4 dc.

Work all right side rows from right to left and all
wrong side rows from left to right

Instructions:
Tree Front:
Row 1:Using smaller hook and size 10 thread ch 72, dc in 4th
ch from hook and in each ch across. ch 3, turn. (Mark this row
as right side) (23 solid blocks)

Row 2: dc in next 3 sts, *(ch 2, sk 2 sts dc in next st) repeat
from *across. ch 3, turn.

Rows 3-33: Using legend as a guide follow graph making sure to work
All right side rows from right to left and all wrong side rows from
left to right.

Fasten off.

Snowman Front:
Row 1:Using smaller hook and size 10 thread ch 75, dc in 4th
ch from hook, ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in next ch; *ch 2, skip 2 chs,
dc in next ch; Repeat from * across; ch 5 (counts as first dc+ ch 2 in next row.,
turn. (Mark this row as right side)(24 open blocks)

Row 2: dc in next dc, ch 2, dc in next dc; *(work solid mesh, open mesh)
repeat from * across; ch 3, turn.

Rows 3-32: Using legend as a guide follow graph making sure to work
All right side rows from right to left and all wrong side rows from
left to right.
Fasten off.

Back:
Row 1:Using green(for Chritmas tree) or red (for snowman) worsted weight cotton and larger hook ch 38,
hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 2, turn

Row 2: hdc in each st across; ch 2, turn

Repeat row 2 until piece measure same size as front less 1 row.

Last row: hdc in each st across.

Fasten off.

Edging:
Use Fig 1 as guide

Rnd 1:Holding wrong sides of front and back together attach
green(for Christmas Tree) or red (for snowman) worsted weight
cotton to first st with a sl st (make sure to work through both pieces),
in first st of side AB; work 3 sc in same st as joining (makes corner);
work 32 sc evenly spaced along side AB; in last st of side AB work
3 sc (makes corner);work 32 sc evenly spaced along side BC; work 3
sc in first st of side CD (makes corner);work 32 sc evenly spaced
along side CD; work 3 sc in last st of side CD (makes corner);
work 32 sc evenly spaced along last side (DA) of piece.
Join with sl st to first st; Fasten off.

Rnd 2: Using green(for Christmas Tree) or red (for snowman) worsted
weight cotton and larger hook attach cotton to plastic ring
with sl st, ch 1, work 20 sc in ring, join with sl st to to
center st at point B corner, sc in same st, ch 1;* skip next st
*sc in next st, rep from * around and join with sl st to first st.
Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
Using spray starch and warm iron lightly starch potholder.
