Materials:
Small amounts of sportweight cotton (black and red)
glue gun
piece of cardboard big enough to cut a square that about 2.5 x 2.5 and a small circle that will measure 2" across the centre.
small amount of polyester
hook: 2.5 mm Conversion chart
tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
Sc: single crochet
Sl: slip
FLO: Front loop only
BLO: back loop only
St: stitch

Special Stitches:
FLO/BLO: front loop only/back loop only




Size: top part is 2.5" x 2.5"

Instructions:
(make 2)
Top piece: (make 2)
Row 1: With black and 2.5 mm hook ch 11; sc in 2nd ch from hook and sc in each ch across; ch 1, turn (10 sc)(mark as RS)
Row 2: sc in each st acorss; ch 1, turn.
Row 3 -9: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 10: sc in each st across. fasten off.

Edging:
With WS of both sides facing each other and using fig 1 as a guide attach black with sl st at point A; (make sure to work through both pieces) ch 1; work 3 sc in same st as joining; sc in each st across to last st of side AB; work 3 sc in last st of side AB; sc in each st or row down side BG; work 3 sc in first st of side CD; sc in each st across to last st of side CD; work 3 sc in last st of side CD; (Place small cardboard square inside 2 pieces before continuing) work sc in side of each st/row up last side (DA); join with sl st to top of first st; do not fasten off.

Using both loops sl st in each st around. Join with sl st to top of first st; fasten off.

bottom piece:
Rnd 1: With black and 2.5 mm hook ch 2; work 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook; do not join place marker to mark end of rnd.
Rnd 2: work 2 sc in each st around; place marker (10 sc)
Rnd 3: work 2 sc in first st; work sc in next st; *work 2 sc in next st, sc in next st; repeat from * around; place marker (15 sts)
Rnd 4: work 2 sc in first st; work sc in next 2 sts; *work 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts; repeat from * around; place marker (20 sts)
Rnd 5: work 2 sc in first st; work sc in next 3 sts; *work 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts; repeat from * around; place marker (25 sts)
Rnd 6: work 2 sc in first st; work sc in next 4 sts; *work 2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts; repeat from * around; join with sl st to top of first st; fasten off. (30 sts)

Row 1: Attach black with sl st in BLO of any st of circle created by above; sc in each st around; join with sl st to top of first st. (30 sc)
Row 2: sc in each st around; join with sl st to top of first st.
Row 3: sc in each st around; join with sl st to top of first st.
Row 4: sl st in each st around using both loops; join with sl st to top of first st; fasten off.

Glue cardboard circle on inner side of circle. Place small amount of stuffing inside And glue to bottom of top piece making sure to center it.

Tassel:
Part A: With red ch 10; sl in 4th ch from hook and sl st in each ch across; fasten off leaving long end for sewing. (the ch-4 loop will be used to hold tassel - part B)

Sew part A at point A using long tail for sewing.
Glue tassel from point A to B using fig 2 as a guide for placement.
Fig 2:


Part B:
Cut (3) 3" pieces of red; using crochet hook pull 1.5 inch through the ch-4 loop mentioned above. Tie small piece of red around part B 1/4 inch below ch-4 loop to secure tassel.
Trim part B to desired length.

To make this into a fridgie attach magnetic strip to bottom of circle on outside.
