Materials:
Small amount of worsted weight cotton
Hook: 4.5 mm Conversion chart
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Small button

Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
Sc: single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
Dc: double crochet
St(s): stitch(es)
Sl: slip
Sp: space
Yo: yarn over

Gauge: Just be consistant

Finished size: approximately 7" x 2"

Instructions:
Row 1: ch 56 loosely. Sc in second ch from hook; yo and pull up a loop in same st, (insert hook in next st and pull up a loop) twice; yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook; *(ch 1; yo and draw up a loop in last st worked, (insert hook in next st and pull up a loop) twice; yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook)**; repeat from * to **; sc in last st; ch 1 turn.

Row 2: sc in first st; yo and pull up a loop in same st, (insert hook in next st and pull Up a loop) twice; yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook; *(ch 1; yo and draw up a loop In last st, (Insert hook in next st and pull up a loop) twice; yo and draw through all 4 loops On hook)**; repeat from * to **; sc in last st; ch 1, turn.

Row 3: sc in first st; yo and pull up a loop in same st, (insert hook in next st and pull Up a loop) twice; yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook; *(ch 1; yo and draw up a loop In last st, (Insert hook in next st and pull up a loop) twice; yo and draw through all 4 loops On hook)**; repeat from * to **; sc in last st. Fasten off. Weave in ends with a tapestry needle.

Use Fig 1 for reference. Once points A and B are folded into postion forming a pocket attach cotton with sl st to st at point C. Working through both sides of "pocket" sc in first st and then work 15 more sc along side C to B, work 3 sc in corner st at B, work 3 sc along side B to A, 3 sc in corner st at point A; work 16 sc evenly spaced along side A to D; secure, fasten off. Weave in ends.

Attach cotton with sl st in last st worked at point D; work 3 sc evenly spaced along side D to F; Sc in first st of side F to E; hdc in next st, (dc, ch 2, dc )in next st; (the ch 2 is the button loop); Hdc in next st, sc in last st of side F to E; wolk 3 sc evenly spaced along side E to C; join with sl st to last st worked at C.

Fold flap created by folding points E and F towards points C and D. Attach button as shown In Fig 2. Weave in all ends.
