Materials:
Small amount of light yellow worsted weight
3/4 ounces of worsted weight - any varigated with appropriate fall colors will do
hook: 5.5 mm Conversion chart
paper twist
straw colored raffia
hot glue gun
polyester stuffing

Abbreviations:
Sc: single crochet
Sl: sl
St(s): stitch (es)
Ch: Chain
Sp: space
YO: yarn over

Size: 10.5"


Special Stitches:
Bump stitch: Insert hook in next st and pull up a loop, (YO and draw through 1 loop on hook) 3 times (creates a chain of 3 sts), YO and draw through both loops on hook (creates the “bump”).

Instructions:
Rnd 1: With light yellow ch 2; work 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook; place marker to mark end of rnd. (4 sc)

Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around; place marker (8 sc)

Rnd 3: Work 2 sc in first st, sc in next st; *work 2 sc in next st , sc in next st; repeat from * around; place marker. (12 sc)

Rnd 4: Increase 3 sts evenly spaced in this row. (To increase work 2 sc in 1 st.) Place marker. (15 scs)

Rnd 5: sc in each st around changing to varigated in last part of last st; place marker.

Rnd 6: work sc in first st, bump st in next st, *work sc in next st, bump st in next st, repeat from * to last st, sc in last st; place marker.

Row 7: work bump st in first st, sc in next st, *work bump st in next st, sc in next st, repeat from * to last st, bump st in last st; place marker.

Repeat rows 6 and 7 until piece measures 8” ending with row 7.

For decrease rows continue working in sc only.

Decrease row 1: decrease using first 2 sts, *decrease using next 2 sts repeat from * around to last st, sc in last st; place marker. (8 sts)

Decrease row 2: decrease using frist 2 sts, *decrease using next 2 sts; repeat from * around; join with sl st to first st; fasten off leaving long end for sewing.

Finishing:
Stuff corn with polyester stuffing.

Cut raffia 5” long. Place 1 “ of raffia in open end of corn. Weave long end for sewing through the remaining 4 sts at top of cob; insert glue from hot glue gun on raffia where cob will touch when the long end for sewing is pulled taut. Secure and fasten off end.

Make 2 cobs and fasten together with wire and add a paper twist bow…..
