Materials:
100 grams of white worsted weight cotton
small amount of worsted weight dark green cotton
small amount of worted weight jade cotton
5.5 mm afghan hook Conversion chart
5.0 mm crochet hook for edging Conversion chart
tapestry needle for weaving in ends and doing cross stitch

Size: 8"

Abbreviations:
Sc: single crochet
Sl: sl
St(s): stitch (es)
Ch: Chain

Instructions:
(make 2)
Row 1: Using white and 5.5 mm afghan hook ch 26
make base row (see stitches) (mark as RS)
Rows 2 - 21: work in afghan stitch.
Bind off

Edging: (for both)
With RS facing and using 5.0 mm crochet hook attach white with sl st at point A as shown in
Edging Guide. Work 3 sts in first st, sc in each st across to last st of side AB work 3 sts in last
st of side AB. Sc in each st down side BC; work 3 sc in first st of side CD, sc in rest of sts of side
CD to last st; work 3 sts in last st, sc in each st up last side (DA) Join with sl st to first st; DO NOT
FASTEN OFF.

Using FLO sl st in each st around; join with sl st to first st; fasten off.

Using tapestry needle crossstitch design on RS of one piece of potholder as indicated in graph.

Outermost edging:
Holding WS together and making sure to work through both pieces:
Using jade green attach with sl st to center corner st at point A. work 2 sc in same
st as joining; sc in each st around making sure to work 2 sc in each center corner st.
Join with sl st to first st; DO NOT FASTEN OFF. Using FLO sl st in each st around.
Join with sl st to first st; fasten off.

Hanger:
Attach jade green at point B, ch 10, sl st back into same st as joining; fasten off.

Weave in all ends.
