Cap:
Rnd 1:With Right side facing attach green with sl st in first st
past seam on band edge. Sc in first st and work 49 other sc evenly
spaced around band edging changing to white in last part of last
st.(50 sts)

Do not join, place marker.

Rnd 2-using white sc in each st around; place marker (50 sts)
Rnd 3-8: sc in each st around; place marker. (50 sts)
Rnd 9: sc in first st, sc dec , *(sc in next st, sc dec) rep
from * around to last 2 sts, sc in last 2 sts; place marker.
Row 1): sc in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 10: sc in first st, sc dec, *( sc in next st, sc dec) around;
place marker.
Rnd 11: sc in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 12: sc in first st, 2 sc in next st *( sc in next st, 2 sc in
next st, rep from * around; place marker.
Rnd 13: sc in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 14-19: sc in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 20: sc dec in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 21: sc dec in each st around; fasten off leaving long end.

Weave long end through remaining sts of Row 21 and pull tight.
Secure and fasten off.

Using pic as a guide stuff head of snowman and do face markings. (Black for eyes and
mouth, orange for nose as illustrated in picture)

Weave piece of white yarn through sts on rnd 13 and pull tight
to make snowman's neck. Secure and fasten off.

Scarf for snowman:
Row 1:Ch 32, sc in second ch from hook and in each st across;
ch 1, turn.
Row 2: sc in each st across. Fasten off.

Sew around snowman's neck as illustrated in picture.

Snowman's Hat:
Row 1:Ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next st; ch 1, turn.
Row 2: working in back loops only sc in each st across; ch 1 ,turn.
Row 3-21: Rep row 2.
Row 22: working in BLO sc in each st across. Fasten off.

With wrong sides facing sew Row 1 to Row 22 making seam.

We will now be working in rounds.

Rnd 1: With right side facing attach green with sl st in
first st, work 22 sts evenly around band edging, place marker.
Rnd 2-4: sc in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 5: *(sc dec) around; place marker. (11 sts)
Rnd 6: sc in each st around; place marker.
Rnd 7: *(sc dec) around, sc in last st. Fasten off leaving long tail.

Weave long tail through remaining sts and pull tight. Fasten off.

Make pom pom and attach to top of snowman's hat.

Ear Flaps for Main hat:
Row 1: With snowman toward you and RS facing attach green
with sl st in 8th st from back seam, sc in same st as sl
st and sc in next 9 sts, ch 1, turn. (10 sts)
Row 2-4: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn.
Row 5: (sc dec)over first 2 sts, sc in next 6 sts,
(sc dec) over last 2 sts; ch 1, turn.( 8 sts)
Row 6: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn. (8 sts)
Row 7: (sc dec) over first 2 sts, sc in next 4 sts,
(sc dec) over last 2 sts; ch 1, turn. (6 sts)
Row 8: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn. (6 sts)
Row 9: (sc dec) over first 2 sts, sc in next 2 sts,
(sc dec) over last 2 sts; ch 1, turn. (4 sts)
Row 10: sc in each st across; ch 1, turn. (4 sts)
Row 11: (sc dec) over first 2 sts, (sc dec) over last
2 sts; ch 1, turn. (2 sts)
Row 12: (sc dec) over 2 remaining sts. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.

First Tie:
ch 40, sl st in second ch from hook and in each st up ch
to last st., sl st in last st, sl st back into first st; fasten off.

Second Ear Flap:
Row 1: With snowman in same postion as for first flap
Sl st in 22nd st from end of first flap.
sc in same st and in next 9 sts; ch 1, turn. (10 sts)
Repeat rows 2-12 of first flap.
Work second tie the same as first tie.
Fasten off.

Weave in all ends.
